Pool Safety – Taking precautions to keep swimming fun
It’s summer time, the days are hot and your kids are out of school; for relaxation and fun, a refreshing swim is the best relief from the scorching sun. This is the time of year when your pool will get the most use.
Unfortunately, the tough reality is that swimming can be dangerous if you don’t take the proper precautions for you and your children. We have outlined some important steps for pool safety so you can rest easy and enjoy your summer. The following is our swimming checklist:
Children are Always Supervised
Even if your children know how to swim, an adult supervising at all times can prevent injuries from occurring. Also, restricting access to your pool using and spa with fencing when you’re not using it can prevent kids and pets from falling in.
Check your Drains
Making sure your drain covers are not missing, inadequately secure or broken will prevent hair or limbs from getting caught in the suction. If your drain covers are old or damaged, do not swim until they are fixed.
Keep your Pool Clean
If your pool water isn’t clear, it can be more difficult to see any problems and any type of debris can cause additional issues.
We want you to have a fun and safe summer, so make sure you and your family have followed our safety checklist! Games and activities on www.SplashZoneUSA.com can teach your children water safety behavior in a fun and educational way.
